Dear FiftyAndFurthermores,

Summer is officially here!  It's time to travel, read a novel or two, get that bronzy glow and hopefully slow down a bit from our everyday grind to enjoy the fantastic weather.  May your summer be filled with wonderful memories.

This week, we at FiftyAndFurthermore were saddened by the death of fellow sage George Carlin.  Whether you like his style of comedy or not, most will admit he was a comedic visionary.
Click here to sound off on this comedic genius on our F&F message board.

Enjoy The Day,

Where Do You
Go For Support?

Some South American governments encourage, support, and even aid in their residents’ cosmetic procedures because the country takes great pride in having "beautiful people." Physical beauty is highly valued in these societies, and the emphasis on attractive features means that there are certain standards that people feel they must hold themselves up against.

I have a lot to say, though right now, I can’t think of anything. Such is my struggle with writing. I have countless moments while talking or thinking about something and realize it’d be a great idea for a column. When it comes time to write, there are so many things that need to be done, like taking the pile of Bed Bath & Beyond coupons to the store.

I won't use his name, I'll just call him "Cheater in the two seater" being named after his character and his red Porsche. A charming man with the ability to make you feel that you are the only women in the room, and the most beautiful. Looking back, I understand that at one time we did have mutual feelings; we both admired him.

I know we "divas of design" make decorating look easy, but the truth is interior design is not only an art form, but a science. So many fantastic fabrics; so little time. What's a Diva of Design to do? Well, let's start with the basics.

You should always have an idea as far as what you like and what colors work for you.

You're the caregiver, otherwise known as the juggler. People turn to you when they need help. You're an expert multi-tasker. So, where do you go when you need help? If you're anything like most caregivers, the thought of going to a support group makes you sigh and wonder how you possibly could add one more thing to your to-do list even though you feel like a dryer stuck on the spin cycle.
